There is talent on the roster, but there are no playmakers. The coaching/play calling is for shit though. Saban would absolutely do better.

This blow out loss was what I’ve been expecting since the Maryland game. I had feared this was going to be a lost season after game 3.

There is no bright side of this season. I suspected MSU was in deep trouble when the early recruiting reports MSU was at the level of Northwestern the week before Tucker was suspended. Tucker was distracted by a lot of things beginning with his separation and probable impending divorce, the complaint filed by Brenda Tracey and being unable to recruit the way he expected he could.

Maybe Harlan Barnett gets a job in the AD’s office but I see no need for him to coach as an assistant or DC for MSU after what the last 4 Big Ten games have shown me.

Mel Tucker turned out to be a train wreck of a person and a marginal HC who thought he could rely on transfers. MSU football is a casualty of hiring Tucker.

The coaching search can begin in earnest and in my opinion none of the current staff has to be part of the staff for the ‘24 season.

Haller has one more chance to get a football hire right or MSU will be looking for a new AD next time around.

I know it doesn’t matter if we win. I know my life doesn’t change. I get that. But I love msu. I love what it’s done for my family. But during a week where we have the moral high ground we not only get an undisciplined ejection from a game we’re getting our asses handed to us but our administration allows a trivia question about Hitler.

I’m so fucking mentally exhausted. I love MSU. How do we correct this shit

You know I almost posted yesterday but got too busy, I said it up other people though. I didn’t care if we lost by 50. But don’t do any stupid self inflicted shit that takes eyeballs away from their cheating. Keep the focus on hauser running back and forth from the sideline every play and the absurdity of what they’ve been doing.

Silver lining: as bad as this loss felt, I can’t imagine how much worse it would have felt to be bombarded with Mel Tuckerisms after a horrible loss like that. Getting your dick kicked in by your hated rival is bad enough, but seeing a bunch of “Keep Chopping”, “Relentless” posts as the clock hits zero would have been the worst.

This reminds me of on a sitcom, where the story arc revolves around everything going wrong. The season has been an absolute dumpster fire, in the most humiliating way. Just when we think we’ve finally hit the bottom, they post a picture of goddamn Hitler on the video board. As Lansing Facts pointed out, MSU had more pictures of Hitler than points on the scoreboard tonight. Does the Athletic Department think we are tanking for draft picks?

I’m not angry. We got rid of Mel Tucker, and that alone feels like a win this season. I feel bad for the players - you could tell that they don’t believe in the program, and are out there for personal pride right now. I feel bad for Harlon Barnett. No, he is absolutely not the right person for this job, but he also had a pretty shit hand to work with for his audition - trying to salvage a season with Mel’s players and Mel’s staff. Dude loves MSU, but he was never going to do much better than what he is right now under these circumstances. I feel bad for the people who wasted their money on season tickets in hopes of escaping reality for a bit - season tickets ain’t cheap, and I have to imagine many of them are feeling pretty burned right now. As bad as tonight felt, it’s not rock bottom. We had the result we were supposed to have against an overwhelmingly better team. Rock bottom will be equally humiliating losses to far worse teams in the weeks to come. This season has been an absolute fever dream - I really hope that MSU manages to make magic happen with a home run hire, but I’m not going to get my hopes up.

I checked out before this game. Actually figured it would be more like 63-0 or maybe we get a FG. I only watched long enough to look at the black uniforms. Tucker’s time here will set our program back a couple years at a minimum, and probably more like five, even in the era of the portal.
The Hitler fuck up belonged to a 3rd party contractor, but it’s on MSU for not checking in advance. Their scoreboard, their responsibility. Unbelievable.
