Detroit Lions sign ex-Michigan State WR Keshawn Martin

Keshawn Martin is headed home.
Martin, the former Michigan State wide receiver and Inkster native, signed a free-agent deal with the Detroit Lions today.
A fourth-round pick by the Houston Texans in 2012, Martin has had a journeyman NFL career. He appeared in one game with the San Francisco 49ers last year, and before that had stints with the Texans and New England Patriots, when Lions general manager Bob Quinn was with the team's front office.

Martin had 24 catches in nine games with the Patriots in 2015, but figures to provide the Lions the most help in the return game if he makes the team this fall.
Andre Roberts, who handled kick- and punt-return duties for the Lions last year, remains an unrestricted free agent.

It's funny you mention that about WWI, because I thought about that while composing my post. I've been playing that subtract X from the year game a lot lately and that's part of why time has been blowing my mind.

It's crazy how quickly we've become old men. And it's impossible to put into words to OTPT and Wake and anyone in their 20s how fast they'll get there, because it never seems like it while it's happening. Nobody gets it until it happens to them.
