MSU playing to win Empty MSU playing to win

I know this is probably being discussed in other places, but we can talk here about it as well, I think.

Dantonio says he isn't going to run the score up on teams in order to get style points. This can go a couple of ways. He stays true to his word, we only win by 20+ points instead of 40+ against bad teams. He blows teams out and claims he isn't trying to, which gives the illusion that the team is much better than the one that played against Oregon.

The committee has to reward teams that play other top tier teams. What is the point of blowing out 2 FCS teams and 2 other shitty teams? If MSU gets dinged for going out to Oregon and losing, it is going to discourage marquee games in non conference schedules, as other coaches won't see it worth the risk.

with the abysmal state of the Big Ten, style points could potentially be very important.. not necessarily against EMU but Purdue, et al.

Dantonio says..."I'm not interested in taking a timeout before the end of the game to get another seven points. I'm interested in playing the game the way it's supposed to be played and letting it go."

Brady Hoke says...

3rd and 17 at M-OH 30 Justice Hayes run for 7 yds to the MiaOh 23
Timeout MICHIGAN, clock 00:25
4th and 10 at M-OH 23 Matt Wile 40 yd FG GOOD

I am really glad they are not playing to lose. I was worried.

The point isn't that they are trying to lose. The point is that Coach D has come out and said he isn't interested in running up the score, and that backups would play when it is deemed the right time to play in order to help their depth. I guess we will see this weekend.

How many O-line do we have? Oregon game only had a 6 man rotation, and I know they want to use 8 or 9.

Some um MSU playing to win 4168935571 has likely calculated an all-time point differential that Brady is trying to preserve.
