Interesting stat shown during postgame: JD's 76 RBI were the most by a Tiger LF since C-Money in 2006.

Good point. Delmon did get to 74 RBI in 2012, though.

Yeah, batting 5th behind two guys with OBP of around .400. He was shooting fish in a barrel all year and missed 3/4 of the fish.

Watching with interest but without high expectations. Thought the Tigers were a much better team going into the 2 WS appearances and Boston ALCS last year.

I generally approach the playoffs with no expectations. Baseball is a funny game.

Dude sack up. I have a 20 month old and a 5 yr old a wife that works full time. I told them I'd be in the basement because the playoffs were starting. I came up every commercial break to see the kids like a good dad.

That sounds terrible. I left work 1/2 hour early so I could be home by 6:30. Walked in, changed clothes, went to play "family" with the 4 year old who sucks at playing mom because her baby brother blew out his diaper. I changed that, put him down for bed at 7. Then I quietly snuck out to the garage to watch the Tigers.

Honestly once they went down 6-3, I would have just left Joba in there to finish the game. There was no chance they were scoring 3 runs with JD + crap + crap + crap + crap coming up before the top of the order.

I like Castellanos plenty but he's a rookie in his first postseason. Davis is a wildcard but he's an ok 8-9 hitter. The Tigers only have 4 guys who can handle the bat right now. Torii is not included in that conversation after tonight.

Beating the Tigers is not hard. Avoid throwing meatballs to Miggy and the Martinez Bros (and sometimes Kinsler), don't swing at the first pitch unless it's a fastball over the heart of the plate against the SP, work the count, get to the bullpen and it's over. The Tigers are so top heavy it's sick.

Sorry, just venting. Frustrated. I think JV goes bulldog tomorrow. He has no choice.
