Best Overall College Sports Program?
Best in College Sports: Ohio State, L'ville, UCLA lead 2014-15 rankings
Our friends down the road?
Tied with Western Kentucky at 61st.
Once again, the world of college athletics provided a wealth of excitement during the 2014-15 season.
Ohio State won the first College Football Playoff, capturing its first national title in the sport since 2002. Duke returned to the top of men's basketball, ending a short four-year drought and winning the championship. Virginia catapulted itself to the top of the college baseball world, winning the national title one year after finishing as a runner-up to Vanderbilt.
So how did all FBS schools compare when it came to the major college sports? Once again, we sought to find out with our own custom formula.
The National Association of College Directors of Athletics (NACDA) has been ranking athletic programs for years but weighs every sport equally, meaning a football national title is worth the same number of points (100) as a women's water polo title. The CBS Sports Best in College Sports award is weighed more heavily toward sports that generate the broadest base of fan and media interest. We rated five sports -- football, men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball and a "wild card" sport.

CMU does not have a Spartan logo. WMU has a horse rowing a boat while getting beat with an oar by a cowboy.

I think Izzo should go back in time and schedule a game with CMU so Jason Webber can kiss center court at the Breslin Center. Or just let him come to campus and do it whenever. Maybe tomorrow or something.

If "Jason Webber" isn't available tomorrow, I am.. I don't have much going on.Turtleneck wrote:Robert J Sakimano wrote:makes me want to shout "Go Green" and "Go White" at a team wearing bronze and black.

Re: Best Overall College Sports Program?
If we do just the big two sports (football and men's hoops) here are the rankings.
1. Ohio State: 400
2. MSU: 386.5
Michigan is tied for last place with 0.

Seriously how is osu still ranked above us? They didn't finish top 10 in bball?
Even though our baseball team is OK, this is still a flawed metric. Teams without hockey should be punished. That or they need another sport that averages at least 5k attendance to be considered
