Post by steveschneider 2015-08-16, 17:31

Taking the plunge very soon, still need to buy the bands. Any recommendations, and what's a good price point?

I keep hearing that they are significantly cheaper than the engagement ring. Really just want a simple gold band, I guess quality and comfort is important since I'm going to wear it all the time.

What say you?

Get the most expensive wedding band for yourself that you two happy newlyweds can afford.

Unlike most of your stuff, you will get to keep the ring when she files for divorce after popping out 4 kids and fucking the mailman

The real answer is to buy something cheap as shit because you will probably lose it because you're a man. Put the money into hers.

Thanks steve. Did I post about it in a different thread? It was my annual up north guys trip and I may have consumed a lot of alcohol.

I made the rookie mistake and we bought a fairly expensive platinum band for me that matched hers. 4-5 years ago I lost it on the golf course. Bought a $12 replacement that looked similar off of some website. Actually bought 2! Haven't lost that one yet.

I didn't see any post about it except for tTy's post above. Dogs are part of the family so just wishing for the best.

The trip up north sounds great....we just went up state and rented out some rich assholes house on Lake Champlain with all of the future in laws. The rich asshole has his own private 9 hole golf course (par 3 pitch and put course) on his horse farm near by that we had access to. Lots of boating, boozing and golfing. Was a great time.

If that was me, I'd just make extra big ass acre and a half+ sized greens and go for a sweet ass three hole course..... One hole = par 3.  One hole = par 4.  One hole = par 5.... All with super wide fairways and tons of hazzards in between green and tee.  Put 6 pins on each hole and make it, in effect, an 18 hole course.

Titanium all the way.   Your band will also serve as a bottle opener for you and your friends at backyard bbqs and tailgates.   It's a lose-win situation.

Titanium is definitely the way to go. In any type of natural or man-made disaster, you can slip the ring over exposed rebar and hang there until Bradley Cooper comes to save you.

Need Advice: Wedding Bands Empty Re: Need Advice: Wedding Bands

Post by DWags 2015-08-17, 01:30

Guy who posts on this board gets married and his mom asks if he would get married in his dad's band. His dad had passed away and he does.

We're canoeing on the pine one treacherous spring morning and we tip like five times and we aren't drunk. One time we drag ourselves to the bank and he looks down and his fathers ring is gone. Shitty trip the rest of the way.

My suggestion is get a tattoo on your finger.

Mine is not expensive or really cheap but I've fucked my fingers up enough times where I've panicked when it swilled up and I couldn't get it off.

Tattoo. Fuck it.
