Airfares are higher around the world, not just in/out of DTW. I think there's been some collusion on the part of the airlines. They were barely surviving in the years after 9/11, so they got together and decided 1) fewer aircafts means fuller flights and lowers costs for them, 2) no more fare wars that we used to see pre-9/11, and 3) the bump in airfare due to high gas pricess is going to stay in place regardless of the fact that gas is much cheaper now.

So I think that's what we're dealing with.
