Mateen is being investigated in sexual assualt. Case moved to Wayne County

Bad news is due to a relationship the Genesee County prosecutor's family has with Cleaves he requested the case be transferred to another jurisdiction.  Where it goes is decided by the Prosecutor Attorneys Coordinating Council which operates within the MI AG's office and they have moved the case to Wayne County.

Hope its baseless and there are no indictments.

God dammit. I hope the truth comes out and that it says Mateen is innocent but I'm not going to make any assumptions. Very lame news.

I've had casual contact with him in the past via physical therapy. Had some great conversations with him about sports and life. If there is any person I would say "no way, not him", It's Cleaves. It just doesn't seem in his character. That being said you just don't know people from conversations in a rehab joint. But goddammit please, no!

If he did something, then fuck him. If he didn't, I'd hope, for Spartan Nations sake, that we'd know enough to give him the benefit of the fucking doubt until this plays out legally for crying out loud.

No one is doing that but we've seen enough examples where beloved guys do terrible things. No one is going to admonish him just because he's mateen. Just waiting for the truth to come out

Just being accused of sexual assault can cost you 10's of $1000's just defending yourself from false claims. Give most prosecutors that bone and they don't want to let go no matter what.

My brother blew through $55k trying to defend himself from a bogus claim against him. He finally ended up pleading no contest when he ran out of money. This was a case from 30 years ago that the prosecutor dug out of a file and just recently decided to extradite him and take him to court. He was digging through some files just recently and found some papers that could absolve him but it's probably too late for that.
