Design your ideal climate
Was thinking about this this morning walking to school. It's been such a beautiful fall thus far.
Here's what mine would be like. I like 4 seasons. I even like a harsh winter. But not 3-4 months of it like we sometimes have. This may be sort of like Colorado's climate but I haven't been there outside of ski season.
January - cold as fuck. Lots of snow. Basically a typical Michigan Jan or Feb with more snow.
February - Typical Michigan April. Starting to get Spring-y. Mostly cool, some nice days, some rain, even snow occasionally
March - Michigan April/May. Warming up. Cool at nights. Prototypical Spring.
April - Michigan May
May - Michigan June
June - Michigan July. Warm. Some days in low to mid 90's, but mostly 80's.
July - Michigan July
Aug - Michigan Aug
Sep - Michigan Sept
Oct - Michigan Sept
Nov - Michigan September to early October
Dec - Colder, with winter and snow coming for the middle and end of the month
Disclaimer statement - Something about Libs for the Dude.
Disclaimer statement 2 - Girls in the midwest are fat for blanch.

November and especially February need to be colder than your wishes, other than that I could live with the scenario outlined.

Basically what you said. If Obama would get off of his fucking ass maybe it would happen.
I like the seasons, but winter is too damn long and a stupid whore. There are too many mornings in February where I walk outside and scream "fuck you cold and snow" at the top of my lungs before I go to work.

Maybe on February.
Re: November, that is the whole reason I started thinking about this. We are walking to school and it is fucking beautiful. Sunny. 60 degrees. Leaves on the ground. Feels like fall. Why does it have to be 34 degrees in November? I still get my fall fix, just with some sunshine and a little bit warmer. I get to tailgate and go to games like it's September. I can cook a turkey in my parent's driveway without a parka on. Fuck typical November.

I haven't done that in close to 10 years. On the flip side, I do go outside and yell "fuck you humidity and heat' in a neutral voice in my courtyard. On the golf course, I yell "fuck this shit, I wish my hands weren't sweating and I didn't have to wear 4 gloves in a round" quite often.Travis of the Cosmos wrote:Basically what you said. Then December rolls around and I'm still golfing.

I like almost everything about the climate in New York except for the summers. The heat is brutal.
January and February can be brutal cold. It all depends on the ocean. Sometimes it can be a mild winter.

I really like the April-October weather in Manistique MI / Indian Lake area.
Since I ice fish it's good for some long stretches of cold winters.

NYC winters were pleasantly mild. You're right, the heat sucks, though.

love Michigan winters. Often wish they were colder with more snow.. not a big fan of heat. If it never got above 65 in the summer, I'd be stoked.

The winters can be just about right. Just a few degrees below 32, usually in the upper 20's. I agree with WBH I like the seasons. I think New York and Michigan have the inverse extremes going...I think the winter in Michigan is too extreme, I think the summer in New York is too extreme. There's days in the summer where I don't even want to leave the house it is so hot outside.

The weather is the same every day, and it becomes disorienting imo. You can't tell apart the first day of winter, spring, summer or fall. The weather is the same every day.

I hated it being 94 or 95 in the city so I'd decide to head to Jones beach and I get there and it's low 70's. Weird.
I guess I could have just headed to Coney Island but I hate people, so...

Re: Design your ideal climate
I do like the desert heat kind of. Depends on the activity. If you are trying to be active and actually WANT to sweat, it's awesome. If you're golfing or bar hopping or walking down the strip in Vegas, no.
Also, I agree with you 1000% that gHost climate >>> InTen climate. I posted about it a bit but we did a week at WDW in late June this year. It was probably the most rewarding vacation I've ever had. In fact looking back it's up there with the Rose Bowl in a different way. But I digress. The heat and humidity was just so fucking oppressive. I mean downright fucking evil. It cannot be 98 degrees with 98% humidity at 9 AM when you're trying to get in line for Fast Track. Can it? Yes. Yes it can.
