Easily the best SW since Empire Strikes Back.
Kylo Ren is on the way to being as good a villain as Vader was. Bold statement.

I thought it was great. Plot is along very similar lines to the original Star Wars movie. You could say it's kind of like a do-over of the original Star Wars film only with a more powerful enemy fighting a smaller rebel alliance and enough differences to make it stand on it's own while at the same time connecting nicely with the original trilogy. I think you could see this movie without having seen any of the originals and you wouldn't feel like you were missing something. Very well done.

I'm not sure what the perfect movie is to reboot or continue the story, but this one was pretty close to it, for me. If you like star wars don't think you'll be disappointed.

It really isn't, but knowing how you and I are on almost completely different sides of the spectrum in terms of movie taste, you probably won't like it.
Movie is on pace for almost $300 million domestic opening weekend, crushing Jurassic World's $208 million.

Did you see a different movie/movies than I did? He did a fantastic job.steveschneider wrote:JJ Abrams did a terrible job with Stsr Trek IMO so I'm not too wild about his reboot of Star Wars.
Star Wars happened in the late 70s up to the mid 80s. Those days are gone and it will never be the same.

Will go sometimes after the football season is over (after CFP and Super Bowl).
Saw the first 3 and what were breath taking special effects are things you can do with your smart phone.

Yes, because that tech hasn't changed since then, and these movies are just as shoddy.

The movie is good. Parts are expected, but a great way to open the trilogy.GRR Spartan wrote:Death Roe wrote:

Tons of it. I sat to the very last credit and the list of digital artists is probably in the 100s.
Great film and they captured the old magic.

Most disappointing thing to me was seeing it in Xtreme at NCG. First time and nothing extreme about that screen at all. Seemed like a regular movie and nothing close to even a bad rip-off IMAX

They only shot one scene in Imax...No reason to pay the extra money to see the movie on the giant sceen really.

Maybe he thinks it is a series of documentaries about Reagan's missile defense program.

"Wherever possible, whenever possible, we tried to do things as much in camera as we could," Abrams told AP.
"That meant that a lot of artists... were building things, not with pixels, but with wood and paint and foam, and actually constructing sets that we could have done in post [production with CGI].
"It gave the actors the actual location, the actual sunlight or stage light - something to bounce off, and [gave] the movie a feeling of being in an actual location, not an artificial one."
"It was really nice to not have to also worry about 'will that ship look good on camera?' because we actually had it, we were actually filming it."
