VOTING DEADLINE HAS NOW EXPIRED

Dear Gerousia -

I have had reports that new Gerontes are unfamiliar with the voting process, and haven't had time to adequately study and judge the candidacy of Trevor, Bob, and Sponge.  Due to these 2 (or is it 3?) factors, I have changed the deadline for voting on these 3 candidates to midnight (Eastern time) Monday, 5/12/14.

88 minimum total votes will be required.

I think it's only fair that we give everyone an opportunity to exercise their vote at such an early stage in the board's existence.

Please let me know if you have any concerns.

If there is a set time limit of 5:00 PM, are you not breaking the rules because you were not happy with the result of the vote? If you want to change the rules, put it up to a vote - or get rid of the concept of a voting majority entirely if you don't intend to stick to it.

I mistakenly did not say Eastern time when I set a 5:00 deadline. That created some confusion. I decided to extend the deadline to alleviate that confusion (among the other reasons in my post).

I can see how this will create more confusion. I have edited my post to indicate that 88 votes will be the minimum for all 3 elections.

The result I wanted may have occurred at 5:00. It's not about me though. I must put the Gerousia above all else.
