If a drink doesn't come from an animal with hooves, North Carolina legislators don't want you to call it "milk."
Part of the General Assembly's 2018 Farm Billwould ban the marketing of milks made from plants, including almond, coconut and soy, from being labeled "milk" in North Carolina after Jan. 1.
The products could still be sold, they just couldn't legally be labeled "milk" under the proposed law. That distinction would be reserved for dairy products like milk from animals, including cows and goats.

Makes perfect sense.

If you're confused about almond milk, soy milk and whole milk, you probably have different issues. Maybe NC should put some emphasis on education, rather than try to be a nanny state.

Big Milk trying to shut down the healthier options. It's sad to see government get involved with things they should stay out of.

Not sure why it would be hooved animals, shouldn't it be it has to come from teats or udders?
As noted in the ads above, those objectified models have teats & milk, but I don't think they have hooves - though I'd be willing to check their feet/hooves and udder.

I've often wondered how almonds and soy can make "milk" - milk is best unpasteurized, straight from the teat
