Bad movies that were surprisingly good
Watched Gravity and Draft Day recently. Was expecting them to both be crap. Bulloch was surprisingly not totally annoying and the story hooked me in. Draft Day had its total cheese Costner moments and it was no Moneyball. Still better than the reviews.
Both entertained my feeble mind. Pick them up from your local Blockbuster.

I liked it. A man's struggle with himself. Getting shit done under pressure. A narcasistic boss. Rich Eisen. What's not to love?

I have a Family Video at the nearest intersection. Three years and I've never been in there. Been thinking about it lately, though.

Re: Bad movies that were surprisingly good
Speaking of the public library, this is my old man's go to move. That and copying Netflix DVDs. I asked him, "you know you could just download the movie off Netflux anytime right?"
He wants hard copies. I think he thinks he is getting over on the man. Meanwhile he has spent god knows how much money on discs, dvd burners, binders to store all these relics, etc. I bet he's never watched any of them more than.once.
Cool story bro.

One near me, too. I have no idea how they stay in business. The parking lot is always crowded, too. My guess is it is a frontage for a brothel.

Pixels...watching with the rugrats...decent comedic high points. Probably not a movie to watch to impress your bro dates though.

Erm, hate to break it to you, but Gravity was a critically acclaimed, MAJOR success. It was nominated for 10 Oscars, won seven of them, most notably Best Director.
Gravity is a masterpiece.

FV will always be around, they cater to the low-income clientele in their footprint area. Not the brightest people in the world, though. A few friends of mine have worked there in the past, the stories they tell are crazy.

I mentioned it in the other thread. Have you guys seen The Equalizer? Fucking awesome. Probably technically "bad". But fuck technically. It is fucking awesome.

Fair enough, not a movie buff. But Bullock as an astronaut didn't exactly inspire hope going in.

My time is so short. A movie better fucking entertain me. That said, the big short pissed me off. Great movie, no one will rent it though.
Just watch Shaun of the dead. I'm giving ant man a 6th try this weekend. I keep falling asleep during it.

Yeah Big Short made me pretty upset, it was a really good movie, too.
Crazy to think that director made Anchorman and Step Brothers. He's an Oscar-winning director now (best screenplay)

I just watched Star Wars Episode VII again. I am so pumped for Episode VIII, it's going to be tits. Rian Johnson (Looper) is directing and writing.

VII was solid. Way better than I-III (ripcorded halfway through II so I assume III was shit too).

Re: Bad movies that were surprisingly good
I don't know y'alls setuup, and I think you younger dudes watch a lot of shit probably on your tabs and your laptops and such. But if you want an easier way to view torrents and such on your main TV, go buy a firestick and put Kodi on it. It's honestly pretty fucking amazing.
Instead of having to search for a torrent, download it, connect to my projector or TV via a cable or whatever, I just search through the simple UI, which is pretty much just like searching on Amazon or Netflix, pick what I want to watch and select a stream with my firestick remote. Boom. Served up.
This shit is going to eventually enable complete cord cutting. I can serve up just about any movie from newly released to Wizard of Toto or any TV show from current season to Leave it to Beavah and watch it on my 101" screen in like 30 seconds or less.

I have a firestick... have no idea what a torrent is and no idea how to download shit on it. i.e. I've never used it.

It's not super hard but probably useless to try to explain right now. It's nice though. It's just an app you put on your firestick and then some "extension" you download as an add on.

Asking for my Amazon pin right out of the gate... this is not good... normally I would ripcord, but this time I accept it's challenge.
