OF this list only Columbia can be considered a peer to el. They suck for different reasons however. Other than Detroit and Charleston, south Carolina is a fair comparison to michigan over the past 20 years....

For starters, none have a bordered up block right across from campus for almost a decade.  Doubtful they ve both lost prominent restaurants in 2 years, and have you ever made the drive on mich Ave between the capital and campus
