Squirrels: America's tiny menace
Squirrels may look unassuming, but these little critters have been known to cause big trouble. In fact, in the past few years, they've disrupted businesses, sporting events and taken down other creatures you'd never believe they could.

Are they more or less dangerous than raw milk?

Lean and plentiful, the squirrel was once considered a cheap source of protein. Maybe it's time to bring it back to the bowl.

I'm the guy who fixes your office's servers when a squirrel chews through or gets fried out on the outside lines.

Thankfully, I've never had a squirrel chew through any wires or cables. I could've used you when my rabbit chewed through just about every wire and cable available back in undergrad. B

I would have happily replaced every telecom cable that you needed replaced, Greenway.

I hunted squirrel for a couple of seasons in my teens. I quit after coming to two conclusions: The first was that it took too many to put a decent dinner on the table (basically, too much work for not enough payout), and B--I found myself having more fun playing cat and mouse with the squirrel trying to get a bead on him than I did actually making the kill. Those little shitheads are a pain in my ass, especially with a vegetable garden growing, but I've come to love those little fuckers. It's great watching them solve problems.

No problem with squirrels. Dogs pretty much keep them at a distance, but hole e fuk do I have a chipmunk problem. Little fuckers are every where are tearing up my mulch beds with their tunnels.
I might need tTy and his Uzi soon.

You don't need a genocidal deer murderer and his weapons of mass destruction... just get one of these...

Had shitloads of squirrels at my last home. Saw a hawk swoop through the backyard and pick one off the ground.xsanguine wrote:Nordic wrote:No problem with squirrels. Once saw an albino squirrel in a pine tree through the side door of the garage next to where the grill was. Kinda freaky looking critters. Saw it in the backyard a couple weeks later then never saw it again. With the poor camouflage guessing a hawk got it too

Walking the plank seems a bit cruel. If I'm going kill mode, I want to swing the hammer. Might borrow the the neighbors pellet gun.

Actually, the hunt is more fun. Looked forward to trips up to the cottage in the summer as a kid. Stalked them with a Crosman.Nordic wrote:The Pantry wrote:Cruel? Little fuckers should have learned to swim

Grandparents used to have a pellet gun by the window and I would just pick those F'ers off when they got to the bird feeder

Re: Squirrels: America's tiny menace
Grandpa lived at the Keweenaw cottage (Portage Lake) and always planted a garden. Kept a .22 Marlin on the porch and got the ones going for the veggies until his aim deteriorated. My responsibility when there was getting as many as I could find, and cutting the grass.CORNER BLITZ wrote:The Pantry wrote:Actually, the hunt is more fun. I always thought campus squirrel was a good gig. Not many natural predators and drunk girls are desperate to feed you and pet you.
