Fuck. I can sympathize with that. My toe is broke and I'm such a pussy I could hardly put a shoe on it. This guy has to do unnatural things at great velocity.

All right, I'm gonna get ahead of this. Can't take credit, buddy was texting me about it.

The Yankees and ARod have jointly called a presser tomorrow. They aren't saying much. ARos says he's at peace, but believes he can still contribute. He's not playing in NY, hitting .200 as a 3rd stringer. They recently did this with Tex, but ARod has $21mm left on his deal that he would be forfeiting if he willingly hangs them up at seasons end. Doesn't make much sense.

Seems to make sense they would be outright releasing him, and he would be free to sign where he wants. Buddy looked it up, and here's the salary language:

"The team that releases him is responsible for the salary the player is owed, less what he is paid by the team that signs him (in practice, the amount paid by the signing team is usually a pro-rated portion of the Major League minimum salary)."

So um.....fucking go sign the shit out of ARod Mr. Avila.

Here we go with McGehee - was hitting .322 at Toledo with a .825OPS so having a pretty nice year there.

I would most definitely give A Rod a shot to play 3B every(ish) day until Nick is back over a McGehee/Aviles combo. Dude doesn't play at all, no opportunity to get into a rhythm. He's at least got a bit of power left. For a portion of the veteran's minimum what do you have to lose?
