Interesting. I think of Arby's as one of the higher-end fast food places. Their curly fries alone kill pretty much all fast food fries.
to be fair, she did say Arby's is gross, not "Arby's is gross, I could eat a pound of Subway turkey and salami with a smile", we're unaware of her fast food hierarchy
this is a solid point.

Just think how great it would be if you had a tall, cold glass of whole milk to wash it down......
I need to hook you up with some Amish ladies up here, all the deer you can shoot and all the milk you can drink.

Just saw this scathing review. One I had was not tough at all. Only thing I agree with is the sauce is too sweet. Could have used more black pepper too.

Gotta say I'm shocked that the person that "raced down the block for a cheese and tomato panini" didn't like the sandwich. BTW, what is this Meat Mountain they speak of? How did I miss that? The Pantry wrote:Just saw this scathing review. One I had was not tough at all. Only thing I agree with is the sauce is too sweet. Could have used more black pepper too.

The bun is way too thick. The cut of venison is way too thick. Pass.

Wrong board champ. Maybe you can stop being a coward and engage people on the right board. Probably not though. So instead, continue you passive aggressiveness here.

Have asked about it at the location near me. $10 Have not tried one yet...too over the top. Looks like you'd have to dismantle it to eat it.StylesGShmooth wrote:Gotta say I'm shocked that the person that "raced down the block for a cheese and tomato panini" didn't like the sandwich. Guy manning the drivethru also mentioned a sandwich they call "the Denali", which adds a fried pollock filet to the Meat Mountain. I like fish but that combo sounds pretty fucking gross to me.

The venison cut is decent. Needs to be that thick for the sous vide method to cook it medium rare. Must admit the outside appearance of the meat is an ugly gray color. Would be better if they seared them to finish. The bun really isn't that thick, just like all hamburger marketing pics. Called the location near me a little while ago to see if they still had them. Guy said they sold out yesterday.Watch Out Pylon! wrote:The bun is way too thick. The cut of venison is way too thick. Pass.

Seems like the cut is a little thick for a sandwich. Still looks good, although yeah--that gray isn't going to win awards for fast food photography. I wonder what they could do with shaved venison instead of a whole piece. Easier to eat and opens up opportunities to play with spices and seasonings.
Also, where's the damn green sauce?

The cut was actually good. A true steak sandwich.tGreenWay wrote:The Pantry wrote:

But, I like the way you think. A spiced-up tomatillo sauce would have been much better. Better yet, a creamy black peppercorn sauce.

Never been a fan of peppercorn/peppercorn sauce, but the spiced tomatillo sauce would be great.

Black pepper is fine, but as a complement to the primary flavor(s). Never been a fan of peppercorn. Bit into a couple when I was a kid (including once in a dressing) and it just didn't sit right. Not a fan when it's a flavor being highlighted.

I'd have to check my Workers' World Party membership card. That's going to require me to do some math, so it could be a while before I get back to you. Sit tight. Don't go anywhere.

The grey is the result of flash freezing it after cooking it before steaming it back to temp for serving. Would be better if they cooked it in the restaurant but that ain't happening.

Without reading his whole thread, are they raising deer and harvesting them? Where is the meat coming from? I've had hall kinds of venison in my life, from most quarrters of Michigan. It all tastes different depending on where the deer was harvested.

New Zealand farmed red deer.
