It's Illinois week. Does anyone care other than my cardiologist?

He drives around in an SUV with a huge Block "I" on it. That must be embarrassing.

Remember JLS's last year when we lost to Illinois, breaking their 542 game Big Ten losing streak? Fun times.

Most of us are already over this season. Many of us will show up in support, anyway. Some of us are smart enough to stay home and watch on tv. A few of us are fricking geniuses and will take care of yardwork, run errands, play golf, whatevs.

Exactly. I've seen some of these people at games and tailgates since I was an undergrad. Only see them in the fall, and a few are getting up there. Gotta take advantage of the time that we get.

I mean, have they really looked that impressive? We hung with Michigan for a bit .. yeah rivalry whatever but I would imagine they will be up for OSU as well.

Well the Cardio dude is in the Saginaw area.   I do commute to Grayling for most of my medical needs since the hospital in West Branch has a dicey reputation at best.  I've never gotten anything but the best of care in Grayling dating back to my 1st ER visit in 19 and 79 when it was still run by nuns.   Beaumont credited the docs in Grayling with saving my life in '08 so my kids like them too.  ;-)


My favorite Grayling hospital story:  The '79 visit was the result of flipping a dirt bike while out riding with a friend from MSU.  Among other things I severely dislocated my shoulder and they had to put me under to reduce the dislocation.  After laying in the woods for 2-3 hours with that and the anesthesia and the pain meds I was pretty groggy.   The nurses wheeled me to the door while my friend pulled the truck up.  I stood up and started walking to the truck, one of the nurses cautions the friend "you should help him walk" - the immediate response "Nah, I've seen him a lot worse than this".   The nurse (nun) looked suitably appalled.
