Should I root for a boy or girl?
I'm hoping to plant my seed in Mrs. Vietnamese Fletcher and am wondering whether I should be directing my boys to create a boy or girl zygote.
I first assumed boys would be easier (the old "You only have to worry about one dick instead of every dick" theory), but then I started to think about some of the cons. Your chances of having a serial killer/mass shooter are basically nil with a girl. She's also much more likely to take care of you in your old age. Incarceration odds go way down with a girl, as do the chances of premature death due to general stupidity.
What say you, trusted parents of tSwill?
P.S. Forbin, please stay out of this thread.

Does it really matter? Either way you will be saving everything they ever say and will bring it up later when they have long forgotten about it.

Parenting question - do most parents accept "But it was in the heat of the moment and I was super pissed!!!!" as an excuse for bad behavior?

Re: Should I root for a boy or girl?
It all depends on your parenting methods. If you're willing to tell either sex "no", "stop whining" and "stay in your effing bed" and back it up, then it's about the same. If you're a pushover, root for a boy, because a bratty boy is easier than a bratty girl.
Have fun.

Toot for twins, one of each, have her tubes tied during C-section, call it good, The End.

I always rooted for healthy and never told anyone if I wanted a boy or girl. Ended up with one of each. No matter what you have you have a 67% chance of having the opposite sex with kid #2. If kids #1 and #2 are the same sex you have a 67% chance of having the same sex with kid #3, but a 67% chance of having the opposite sex with kid #4. 67% of the time this analysis works every time.

So far I've enjoyed having a daughter. The cartoons and the pink get to be a little much at times, but its been a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I really enjoy taking her to the pool and the zoo. Ultimately I don't think it really matters, just hope for healthy.

Re: Should I root for a boy or girl?
There is nothing better than being the father of girls. You are God even if you are really an ass. I am living proof. Girls ALWAYS love their Dads and when they are trying to learn how to be bitches, they practice on their Mothers, NOT their Fathers, because why?...they love their Dad's too much...
That being said, other boys are nasty pricks and deserve to be shot clean through the head. They will treat your precious girls like trim buckets so...get the word out quick that you are not to be trifled with and raise your girls to be strong and believe in themselves. When she was 14, my oldest daughter came home with "You are the meanest man in the world! Every boy at school HATES you!" I declared victory. My wife thanked me later when we were alone.
She held out for a great guy she met in college. They have been married eight years, grand kids, happiness and she is still bad ass. I blame myself.

Root for healthy. I have two boys and lost a girl in the third trimester.
I'm also godfather to a few kids. Two are girls. They are able to go off and play in their rooms and crap much better than my boys. the boys go runnig shirtless through poison ivy patches and shit. Crazy bastards.

Re: Should I root for a boy or girl?
Obviously, I'm sure you'd take healthy first and foremost.
After that, it's a tough call. I only have a daughter, and she's only 8, so I'm both biased, and with incomplete information. Having said that, a young daughter is awesome. They love their daddies and it's awesome the way they look up to you. At my wife's insistence, I'm usually the "good cop", and must be sweet with her, so I'm happy to do that. And when I do yell, then she really knows it's serious.
But I look ahead to the tween and teen years with dread, both because of teenage girls freaking out, and because of boys chasing her. Author Tom Clancy has a line that he used a few times in his books, with a bit of tongue in cheek: "Daughters are God's punishment for being a man." That may be, but the early years are great, and I hope they last.

Re: Should I root for a boy or girl?
What is the point of having separate boards, if crap like this ends up on THIS board.
Clearly, this thread belongs over on tBob - and that great American Robert J Sakimano will give the full and correct answer.
I'm now turning on the Bob notifier and will await his reply (OMFG - Fletch is going to reproduce!)
Or are Bob & Fletch the same person (has anyone ever seen them at the same place/same time?)

Good feedback. FWIW, I hear from Dads of girls that while the teenage years blow, most teen girls really take out their hormonal imbalance on their Moms.

You need to take a course in probability, champ. The sex if the child is considered an independent event. It's 50 percent every time.

The 67% is some crap I came across a couple years ago and is based on some old wives tale.
Technically you have a 51% chance of having a boy based on statistics.
The odds of having a boy seem to increase after having girls, except after 2 girls, when a 3rd girl is more likely.
