Didn't love the pick initially, proved me wrong last year, now he sucks. Blow it up.

That big of a drop off in quality of play isn't physical. Van Grungy hinted in preseason kid wasn't right.

Johnson was a one and done at AZ and was a 19 year old rookie. He did well his first year although his mother, a former college and professional player and his youth coach died before the '15-'16 season.
Last season was a whirlwind for Johnson and when it ended he had time to grieve and for the first time navigate life without his mother and basketball mentor.

Re: What's up with Stanley Johnson?
Turtleneck, are both your parents still alive? If one or both are gone, how old were you when the first one died?
I was a HS senior when my mother died after "beating breast cancer" when I was a 15 year old and died from liver cancer when I was a HS senior. I was a typical HS kid. Havng experienced what voids her death left in my life I won't gloss over what effects Johnson's mother's death had on him after the season.
The season ends and he goes home to an empty place. Johnson can't go home and talk about the season, what he's doing in the off season and have the person he always trusted looking out for his best interests. She's gone.
