There is some recent buzz about this kid Oliver Martin, who is a 4 star WR and apparently the #1 recruit in Iowa and pals with Rocky. He's going to visit for one of the weekends in Jan and wants to commit pretty quickly afterwards. Player's brother told me he's trending our way.

PS. OTPT would hate this kid.

Yes we do. Not as big of a need as a RB, but we definitely could use another WR. Look at the #s.

If I were a defensive coach at MSU I tell him "I don't want you to think about bulking up. A 300 lb it doesn't fear a 260 lb DE. Lose 5 lbs, get more active, and make an OT move his feet in pass pro."

His school (Roswell) is 7A...highest classification in Georgia. Roswell is traditionally a strong program playing against tough competition. If he's a good player for them, it bodes well for him at the college level.

I'm honestly having a hard time not getting hyped about this kid. If he were overpowering 230 lb tackles that would be one thing but he seems to be a quick kid whose game is to play quick.... If that makes sense.

Offered a new WR, Raheem Blackshear. It appears we have 3-4 irons in the fire for a quick twitch-type slot WR including the Martin kid that OTPT would hate, this kid and a couple of others.

As Fupa and LG's article mentioned they are also chasing a RB. Have 4 coming in for visits.

They are chasing another DE. And def a CB. Also sounds like an OLB with that Owusu kid and the Juco Ohio kid looking to be most likely. There are 2 OTs that seem to be high on the list, too, but those kids are both very highly rated and chances seem slim. One is going to go to OSU if they take him and I think the other is committed somewhere else.

Sounds like they are setting things up, though where they are getting some of the higher rated kids on campus the first couple of weekends after the dark period is over and the others the few weekends leading up to signing day. At least that's what a player's brother told me. Seems like they're planning on adding at least 4-5 more kids to this class. I'd pencil that Cumberlander kid in as one of them. Sounds lie the only reason they haven't accepted a commitment from him is he hasn't been on campus. Once he gets there, if he's still sold, sounds like he's going to become a Spartan.

Also from what I read, looking very likely Peat is back. That is great news.
