If we're going to compare Bernie's tax rate to those of Trump and Romney, let's also compare his income. The full picture will be informative, I suspect. But that is a pretty low rate he's paying.

I should also note that I've not seen the source for any of those numbers, so I can't say for sure that any/all of them are accurate.

What is one reason Trump doesn't want his taxes released? Is it a corporate thing I'm missing and somehow his competitors could use it? Like the wire tap thing he has 100% power in his hands to not only end all this but in so doing he could so cripple his critics that they would crawl in a hole. He has all the ability here. Maybe he's so used to his tv show he wants to string this on for whatever reasons. Of all the political intrigue causing him legitimacy issues there are two he could end tomorrow and give his critics a big fuck you at the same time.

Anyone who thinks those returns from 2005 weren't a Trump release are being a silly goose. It's an absolute set up. The WH released them almost immediately to all news media. It was a client copy. So, it originated from Trump or his tax guys.

A lot of hype that people fell for. It does kind of bring the issue (more) to light as Tax Day approaches (and increases speculation on where he gets his income from).

Trump is all about making himself look good. This particular return (sort of) makes him look good (as you've seen Goose already try and spin). It's conceivable Trump released it for that reason...to hope the issue goes away. I think it will do the opposite. It's bringing the issue squarely back into the news.

The audit excuse doesn't fly any more, and won't fly with his returns for 2016. He's a con man. His returns would further expose that.

The audit excuse is easily verified if now President Trump would release a copy of the letter notifying him that he and/or his corporation were being audited for tax year X or tax years X,Y and Z etc.

Given that now President Trump has refused to release a copy of the IRS form letter (with his SSN and/or corporate tax ID redacted) informing him of their intention to audit, one has to wonder if there are multiple years involved and or were ever IRS audits ongoing when he made the audit excuse.
