He was. He was an awful person but he's also an amazing artist. There's something so honest and genuine about him that I find very compelling.

His song Old Violin got me all choked up the first time I heard it. i guess he was facing prison time when he wrote it and I think all the anxiety and dread he was experiencing came out in that song.

His drinking songs are where it's at. Bar Stool Mountain, Fifteen Beers, Drinking and Driving...so good.

I mostly listen to deep house when I lift. Keeps me calm and level headed. For a big lift I switch to Metallica/Slayer/Motely Crue.
