I know he got re-taped but is he really hurt? Pretty sure he rode the pine because his d was bad.

And of course, Izzo. Goes without saying. Non-genius.

Watched a post game blurb after the podium interviews. Coach said he has to play both ends. Someone asked about his ankle. Coach gives raised eyebrows look to guy who asked and after a delay: "Ankle.....??? (shaking head) no....no."

I thought so. Cassius Winston is going to be a great player.

No question.

But until he learns to check people he is going to be in Izzo's dog house. Ask Morris Peterson how this works.

I don't think so. I recall Izzo calling Harris the best defender on the team pretty early in his freshman year. Pete, yes, definitely.

ugh, what a tough tradeoff. Can't we just combine the two guys.

If he sat him and he could have played it's obvious Izzo wanted to lose this game IMHO. In Izzo We Trust?!!!

Yeah, I heard he had problems playing defense or with the Izzo's concepts at first. Maybe I heard differnet.

This is a great point. He probably gets a pass because of his "leadership".

I'm not going to argue that Tum is a liability offensively.

But he is a leader. I bet if you ask ANY of his teammates they will tell you as much.

Which defines a leader.

Yeah sorry, Eron Harris. Duh. I just miss Gary.

It's Izzo 101. Tum's gonna play a lot, and in the clutch until Cash can adequately play D. Don't think Tum is what any of us want as our starting PG right now but he's what we've got and our Coach is never going to sacrifice D for O.

I honestly think he might be throwing the entire season for the sake of the program.
I don't think there is much doubt that the team is usually better with Cash on the floor but he doesn't want to go into next season thinking that kind of defense is acceptable.

FTR. I think the way Walton jr. is playing he would have lit Winston up today and enjoyed doing it.

The points been made that the gap between ward and goins as well as tum tum and cash on defense isn't as big as what the gap is between them on offense so as far as the whole plus minus thing what do you have to lose? Hard to come back with an argument against that.

But I do know this: Izzo has made this issue a front page issue and if Winston and Ward didn't notice that their defense required more urgency before, it does now. I think the little elf has done what he wanted. There are now news articles about it.

There was a play yesterday where Ward played great defense, and then brought his arm down at the end and got called for the foul. You don't have to try and block everything. Just play good solid defense.

Yeah I don't think I am that far off. Dwags makes a great follow up point of the kind of thing I am alluding to.

"The points been made that the gap between ward and goins as well as tum tum and cash on defense isn't as big as what the gap is between them on offense so as far as the whole plus minus thing what do you have to lose? Hard to come back with an argument against that."

So you can play Cash and Ward more minutes and sacrifice some defense but win more games. I'm not really sure how you could possibly not see something so basic like this that is going on?
