Re: tOfficial 2017 NCAA Tournament Thread
Wags' question had me wondering what type of conditions would be required to score a full court heave off the bounce from inside the arc and from outside the arc (height of drop, angle of impact, etc).
That led me down an internet rabbit-hole which led to this; A popular physics demonstration is to drop two balls together, say a tennis ball on top of a basketball. The tennis ball then bounces with about 16 times more energy, by bouncing off the basketball, than it does by bouncing directly off the floor.
Which then led me to this.
RIP, sky hamster.

I wonder for stat keeping where the shot attempt would be placed.. has to where it bounced.

Your quote above from the director of officiating says it is a 2 point shot if it bounces inside the arc. Read your own quotes before you quote them Matty!

Watch the replay, they doubled the dude with the ball and left the 3-pt shooter open. He was the only option and was open. Only shot they had.
Just saw the replay and you're right. I guess I'm wondering why he's picking and popping instead of rolling to the hoop when 2 points wins the game? Both defenders went with the ball so he could've done anything and been open. Why settle for a long jumper?
I DON'T KNOW

I have Florida going far and they look like ass. Guess that's what I get for trying to estimate a team's ability off of the one game of theirs I saw.

Same with me and Virginia. But the last time I watched Virginia was when we played them. Looked like the same roster.

No I get that part, I was just thinking how it would be written on like the ESPN app... nvm.

Lisa Byington is the sideline reporter for the Minny game. That's cool. I remember her at WLNS.

How does a Big Ten team lose to fucking Middle Tennessee State. Minnesota is an embarrassment to the conference if they don't pull off a miracle here. Unthinkable.
