Recruiting mailbag: Michigan State QB, Michigan DL situations for 2019

"Do you feel MSU has a shot at legacy recruits Muhammad and Snow?" — Timo Slice

Yes, I think MSU has a good shot with both Muhsin Muhammad III and Darius Snow, and both they are in different stages of their recruitment. Let's break down each one of these prospects and their recruitment individually.

• Muhammad: A junior four-star WR from Charlotte (N.C.) Meyers Park, Muhammad has seen his recruitment take off as of late. He received an MSU offer back in February, but has also added several impressive offers from the likes of Tennessee and Virginia Tech, as well as some recent rumblings about Georgia, although the Bulldogs have not yet extended an offer to Muhammad. The key here will be getting Muhammad on campus this fall, which should happen.

• Snow: The son of former MSU basketball standout Eric Snow and the nephew of MSU All-American linebacker Percy Snow, Snow is considered to be one of, if not the top safety prospect in the 2020 class. Snow already has offers from the likes of Alabama, Notre Dame, Texas, Clemson and LSU. So, while the family ties are certainly there, the competition is steep. Snow has already visited MSU once, and is very high on the Spartans. Given the competition here of other elite programs currently recruiting Snow, it would be a huge victory for Mark Dantonio and his staff to keep this family tradition going.

Michigan State joins the fray in frenzied recruiting summer for Devell Washington

BAY CITY, MI -- In some ways, Michigan State University feels like home to Devell Washington.

Now, he'll have to decide if home is where his heart is.

The soon-to-be Bay City Central junior added MSU to his fast-growing list of college football choices this week when coach Mark Dantonio offered him a scholarship to join the Spartans.

"It's like a dream that's come true," Washington said. "There's nothing like home."

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound wide receiver is blossoming into a hot commodity on the recruiting trail. He nabbed big time offers from the University of Michigan and Ohio State University this summer to go along with earlier offers from the likes of Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Toledo and Cincinnati.

He said he's been drawing heavy interest of late from Penn State, Oklahoma State and Florida, as well.

The article I read said he had offers from — among others — tOSU, Wiscy, and Iowa. Whether or not OSU’s offer was committable, IDK.
