Pretty close to earning some cash in TBT, too.

Devendorf has been back at it over the past few weeks, doing what he loves and leading a squad called Boeheim's Army, a tribute to SU's Hall-of-Fame coach in "The Basketball Tournament," a $2 million winner-take-all event.

The Army is a group of former Orange players who are coached by Ryan Blackwell, 40, the Pittsford Sutherland graduate and another former SU star. The team has made it to TBT's Final Four. The third-year event, which started with 64 teams, features mostly former pros and major-college players. Next up: Tuesday's semifinals. Boeheim's Army plays two-time defending champion Overseas Elite in Baltimore (ESPN, 9 p.m.). The 7 p.m. semifinal pits Scarlet & Gray (mainly former Ohio State players) against Team ALS Challenge.

Stars for Scarlet & Gray include Jared Sullinger, Scoonie Penn and Greg Oden, the No. 1 pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. University of Pittsburgh star, DeJuan Blair, is the highest profile player for Overseas Elite, which is 17-0 in TBT play.

"They're a great team, but I believe in my guys," says Devendorf, the oldest player for The Army and the only to have been on all three versions of it. "They believe in themselves."
