true - we only see/hear when things are desperately horrific on behalf of the cops.

this was a pretty good example of how to handle a situation. Also, that cop better be thankful that backup show up when it did, as it might've gone south for him in a hurry.

I used to live next to a guy with a closed head injury who liked to drink. It was almost impossible to reason with him if he wanted to do something, and all the worse when he was hammered.

My guess is there will be post-mortem (no pun intended) of this video as a teachable moment. However, I’m all but certain there will be some cops and in the general public who believe one of the officers on scene could have and probably should have fired on MM the moment he placed his hand on the other officer’s weapon. As we’ve all said, MM was very fortunate not to have ended up on a slab that night.

We do know that he went to MSU and things didn’t end up great for him. We don’t know if a different choice would have made anything better whatsoever. We also don’t know if a different choice would have been demonstrably worse.

I guess what I’m saying is maybe both arguments are kinda silly with all of the unanswerable variables.

It’s a false narrative. Everything happened after MM signed a contract and got his bonus. His head is messed up from that accident. Internal head trauma is a well documented reason for causing personality changes; usually emotional, often violent outbursts.

I think there's a lot of shit in play for how he wound up where he is. The biggest factor is probably the ATV accident, but I don't know enough to say that for certain. I don't think the coaching staff did him any favors with the leeway they afforded him in 2016. He was completely out of control and they put up with it for a good part of the year. It also really hurt that he did not have upperclassmen to keep him in check. Both Shilique Calhoun and Jack Allen put him in his place.
