She's only there because she's a woman, would you seriously argue that? That if you compared her resume vs others that might have applied that she would be the most qualified to analyze the game of playoff baseball? I'd be fine with her for a regular season game but this is the playoffs which should supposedly be covered by the best and most experienced. She's been around for 3 years or so.
I'm fine with Doris Burke doing basketball, she's put in her time and earned it. You didn't see her doing playoff games 3 years into her career. Name me other non playing announcers in history doing playoff games this early in their careers?
So yes, perhaps I phrased it badly. I don't think she deserves to be in the booth for this game on the merits and the only reason she is relates directly to her sex. That's equality going too far, equal chances are fine. Huge advantages suck and are unfair to those that have put in the years.
Someday it may bite you in the ass, bet you'll feel different then.
Also you seriously overstate the ability of someone to say things like "Aaron Judge has had a heck of a year!" She's fine. She's doing fine. She's doing just as good as someone with years of experience would be doing. You're throwing a fit over nothing. Typical.
Nope. Never had it affect me. I never worked for anyone else in my life so I made my own decisions.

I don't know who I'm rooting for here. I guess the twins. But ultimately I don't want Cleveland to win. And that probably means Yankees. I don't know.

Can't believe that Severino and Santana were so bad. Give Santana a 3 run lead, and most of the time the game is over.

I've never seen someone get so shook over a female baseball announcer commenting on Aaron Judge being good and Didi Gregorius having a great swing.

I'm not a fan of women in the booth, but I think she does an awesome job. That said, Goose has every right to his opinion.

For the Twins to have a shot he needed to repeat his last performance. Credit goes to girardi and the bullpen. They were able to stop every rally the Twins had. When they had bases loaded that was a great opportunity to do some real damage and Green got them out of a huge jam.

There's always a team that will shocks us. Watching the Yankees last night, they have the BP and the batting lineup to make a deep run. Their starting pitchers are a little suspect. They might give Cleveland a better series than we think.

Re: MLB playoffs
Diamondbacks have an elite pitcher on the mound tonight, a hot hr hitter and a solid bp.
Seems like tonight will be a pitchers duel? What's your thoughts on the over. My instincts would be to take the under, but then again I was wrong about yesterday.

Mendoza is one of the better color commentators on network.
She might be too good for ESPN to keep long term.

It's funny how I made a single comment which set off a storm of posts by multiple people that continues a day later and yet you see me as the one that was "shook". Hell you've posted more about it than I did. Leads me to question your powers of observation and self awareness. But carry on, the PC crowd will now stroke you instead of criticizing you.

I think you made more than a single comment.
Maybe I missed it, but did you comment on how she did? You know...her actual performance?
Let me guess...she did OK for a girl?
On a sidenote...I'm not sure you should be commenting on someone else's self awareness.

Not sure, but you know damn well I'm going to look up resumes of the commentators to make sure they really deserve to be at the game talking into a microphone.
