Westinghouse sucks for TV's. If they paid me $249 to take their TV and use it, I would leave it at the store.

I generally hate to go shopping to begin with..the Black Friday madness is my idea of hell.. right up there with living in a warm climate and being forced to go to Disney World.

Buy TVs from Best Buy only. Don't go anywhere else. Had a whole TV fiasco in 2015 with Costco, Sam's, and ABC Warehouse.

That Google Home Mini for $29 is nice, would be a good alarm for me.

I remember when my company switched to opening on Thanksgiving. We held out until 2012, when my store opened at midnight Friday morning.

I did it a couple of times back in the early 2000s. Back then the Best Buys and Circuit Citys weren't overly nuts. They didn't open until 6 or 7, and if you were there an hour before, you had a pretty good chance of getting what you wanted, except for maybe a great TV deal (which I never needed). Haven't done it in about 14-15 years, during which time the crazy seemed to get kicked up a few notches, with people waiting for days in line, starting the sales on Thanksgiving Day, etc.

I am in my 50's and I grew up poor. I can vividly remember when we did not have a TV. My parents weren't making a stand, they just could not afford one. Even then, I can't remember when my parents actually bought one. I remember my dad garbage picking them whenever he would see one and trying to fix them - usually with some success. I don't think we had a color TV until I was in the 5th or 6th grade.

Yep, I remember getting a 13" color model from Best Buy to take to the cabin for $189 and thinking that was a helluva deal....and that would have been late 80s or early 90s.

I grew up in a very "modest" household (that's the most diplomatic way to put it). Thing is, every one else around me was just as working-class so you didn't know other people somewhere had more money.

Looking around nowadays, I'm very thankful I grew up the way I did. Life was pretty simple.

Here's what I don't understand: Humans have pretty much every other advantage in hunting - they're the hunters, they put food out so deer will get used to visiting an area, they have guns, surveillance, etc., so why the fuck do you need another advantage like shooting from the top of a tree? I don't understand the anger over shooting the little varmints. Most people support thinning the herd, but I guess until you've lost your landscaping to the beasts you still think of lil' Bambi.

The deer in my back yard are so tame you could probably kill them with a knife. If you put an apple in your hands they'll walk right up to you.
