USC 4 year scholarship... Is this the start of something new??

Good, this is something that needs to be a thing throughout the NCAA imo

I wonder how many fans who don't really keep track of this stuff just assume scholarships are already 4-year scholarships

This is way less of a story than it seems. They can still yank the scholly for poor academic performance, or criminal conduct etc.... They can also bury a kid on the bench and say you will never play here, and of course get him to transfer.

The large majority of players have their scholly renewed all 5 years anyways. It's pretty much only in the SEC where they run them off and continue to oversign, and that is limited to just one sport - football.

Well the big ten and the pac 12 need to use this is against the SEC and Nick Saban.

It's OK, but how about allowing athletes to earn outside money while in school?
