Wow, that's great news! I echo, Greeny. They're all just bad asses.

Josh just posted an extremely emotional video. Frankly it was to watch. The tumor is stable and the plan is to continue with chemo through the summer.

So impressed with young marcus. On the way to the hospital for the scan he turned to his mom and said:

"Today is going to be a fun day!".

Wow.

Update.

Unscheduled scan tomorrow morning to determine if the tumor is causing weakness in Marcus' upper extremities. The family is hoping it's caused by the chemo. Meanwhile, the kid is smiling in every pic posted from docotor's offices/ chemo treatments. One tough little dude.

Scan was moved up to this afternoon and the results were very good! No new growth, no spreading. The kid is stable. Amazing.

Docs are going to lower the chemo doses and hopefully Marcus can gain his strength back.

Kaleb's post included a pic of a smiling Marcus in the hospital bed BEFORE the scan. I really believe the attitude of this 5 year old is going to beat this shit.

Another heart-wrenching, 10 minute video posted by Katie Jo yesterday. Marcus is struggling. He has lost the use of his arms to the point where he can't really feed himself. He can no longer ride his bike and the only real physical activity he can still enjoy is swimming. ( Katie Jo says it's not even really swimming). So Josh is putting in a in ground pool in their backyard.

Marcus is also having issues with his breathing and swallowing. Through it all the kid never complains, cries or shows anything other than sheer determination. Please continue with your good thoughts and prayers for Marcus and his family.

Another video update from Josh today. Marcus continues to struggle and now needs help doing most everything. Josh is a very spiritual man that is trying to keep a positive attitude but you can tell by his expression and tone that he is struggling badly as well.

He talked about his other two kids and how he needs to spend more time with them. He feels bad all of his and Katie's focus has been on Marcus. They are hoping Marcus can go back to school next month but if he does it will likely be part time and with some help.

Man does this suck.

Update from Katie. Marcus was supposed to temporarily stop chemo to let his body rest and go on a regiment of maintenance drugs. Sadly ( actually total fucking bullshit) the insurance company will not cover it. The out of pocket cost would be 5k per month.

Josh and Katie have appealed and hope to get it covered. In the meantime it's back to chemo. The good news is Marcus started school today and made it through the entire day. After school he went directly to chemo and then they had a neighborhood pool party.

The struggle continues.

certainly not to get off-topic of Marcus and his family, but I had the opportunity to spend a couple of hours once at the UM Pediatric Cancer Center and I can still see the faces.. not so much of the kids but of the parents.

Good news and bad. Marcus continues to struggle with his breathing and spent some time in the hospital over the weekend. The good news is the insurance company has approved the new meds for a year. Hopefully this means no chemo for the short term.

Quick update.

Marcus has been on the new meds for about 6 weeks and not much has changed. He still has limited use of his arms and some trouble breathing. His attitude remains unbelievable and he is able to attend school most days.

A full brain and spinal scan is scheduled for next Wednesday. This is a big one as it will determine whether the actual tumor or it's mutations have grown. Have a good thought for the Thornhills.
