Started watching The Catcher Was A Spy. Only a half hour in before Mrs. GW wanted to grab a nap. Weird seeing Paul Rudd in such a serious role. I know it didn’t get good reviews, but imma still watch it.

It was interesting enough, but I'm a sucker for WWII stuff and spy stuff. Not to mention sports stuff.

I agree, it was interesting enough. It’s just that it seemed to be over before more of the story was told, and that could be on me because that’s all there is available to tell. In any event, it left me wanting more, which I guess in showbiz is a good thing.

Season 3 of The Handmaid's Tale launched earlier this week. They only released 3 episodes, and then the remaining 10 episodes will be released 1 week at a time. One of the best shows going.

Thinking that is how they are going to dole out the Black Mirrors too?

They already released everything for Black Mirror for this season. There never have been very many episodes to Black Mirror releases. This "season" was underwhelming. Still ok, but not up to par with previous seasons.

Apparently season 4 of The Good Place is gonna be the last. I think that's a smart move, it would be hard to keep that premise going much longer.

Same here, especially since my wife is already well ahead. I’m not spending added hours in front of the tube during the warm weather months. We’re already catching up on Homeland and Veep, and that’s good for now.

Edit: I should add I’m looking forward to watching When They See Us and Chernobyl. I guess I will be inside more than I’d hoped. Oh well, I’ve been pasty white for 56 years, no reason to start looking healthy now.

Yup. They usually do at least 5 or 6. Netflix is kinda dropping the ball on this show since they took over.

Just started watching The Handmaid's Tale. Scary thing about this show is how a certain part of society would be just fine with everything going on.

I don't think my wife is going to be able to stick this one out with me. She was not cool with that birth scene in the second episode.

If she couldn't really handle the first couple of episodes, yeah, she might not want to continue with the series. But it's a great show and she should try.

I mentioned a few posts back how I am trying to really watch Deadwood. I went through some episodes in the past but I wasn't really into it at the time.

Anyway, it struck me tonight just how fucking annoying calamity Jane is. I can deal with a boss bitch. I can't deal with a fake boss bitch who breaks down and cries every 3 seconds.

So I did some googling and I could not believe this was the same actor who plays the lawyer/defense atty in SOA. She's actually somewhat cute and attractive in that role. Major acting chops.

General Deadwood thoughts. Season 1, episode 9. I'm definitely getting into it a little more.

Started off hating Al, as I suppose they wanted me to. Now I kind of like him, even though he's still pulling the strings.

Interesting to read that WBH (wow nice acronym) really went out the way he did in the show.

Still think CJ is super annoying but absolutely brilliantly played.

As someone who suffered through the final years of SoA, it strikes me that Kurt Sutter seems to have used Deadwood as his casting call. I won't be surprised when Ron Perlman and Peggy Bundy show up.

I'm supposing this was before justified and what basically launched Timothy Olyphant. He's really good, and I'm kind of disappointed that he's sort of never made it past B+ actor status. He probably would have been a pretty good leading man. Only thing I can remember him in was as the villain in the one Die Hard.

I think Floyd recommended Tin Star on Amazon. I'll second that recommendation. Probably not too appropriate at all times with kids around though. The first episodes ending is depressing. I got through Season 1 this last weekend. I'm looking to start season 2 this weekend. With it being 105 heat index and tWife working all weekend, I think I'll finish season 2 if it is as good as teh first one.
