I agree, this sort of thing absolutely should disqualify a person from holding public office, but only if that is the case for all parties, which it sadly is not.

Why anyone who’s even thinking about seeking an elective office would proceed knowing these types of photo’s were put there in 100’s , possibly over 1000 college year books and think they’d never surface is naive or arrogant. Arrogant gets my vote in this case.

Helluva it is this didn’t require a lot of diving into past statements, etc. Somebody with a year book got it to someone and that someone got it to a small time website so others could act shocked and seem like they were above the fray.

If I’m Ed Gillespie, former RNC Chairman and the guy who lost to Northam, I’m wondering why people didn’t unearth the damning photos when they were being paid to do opposition research in September before the election.

I heard the GOP majority leader of the VA State Senate saying he "hoped" the govenor would resign because he wasn't sure theere were grounds for impeachment.

The Machiavellian part of my head translated his statement to don't ever waste the oposition's crisis.

If Northam resigns soon Lt Gov. Justin Fairfax would be govenor for over two years.

By what must be shear coincedence someone has found a woman who claims that Justin Fairfax sexually assaulted her at the Democratic Convention in Boston in......2004. That's right folks. the GOP is taking out the long knives.

I think they saw what happened to the GOP US Senate candidate in AL and Democratic candidate running for state wide office regardless of state is going to have their record gone thrugh including obscure blog posts tabout events from 15 years ago.

Now trying to torpedo the Lt. Governor of Virginia with sexual assault allegations that were deemed unsubstantiated when the real press vetted them.

I heard the editor of this site on NPR a couple nights ago. He says "I don't believe that journalists should be sanctioned or licensed. I think that citizens with cellphone cameras can be journalists all over the country."

Which in my opinion is exactly the problem with news in this country. This is the tactic of the elite: saturate the web with bullshit so that nobody can ever tell what the actual truth is.
