Gerald Cotten, 31 died in India in December 2018. He was the CEO of QuadrigaCX, a BC based Canadian crypto currency exchange. But those who had their virtual currency in QuadrigaCX can't get their funds from the virtual bank. Cotten died leaving no one the password(s).

Then there's the sad case of American John Galton, who called himself a crypto-anarchist. Galton moved to Acapulco and made the unfortunate decision to start a marijuana growing operation. He died when gunmen entered his growing facility and killed him.
