Niagara coach Patrick Beilein stepping down, former Duke player Greg Paulus to act as interim

"It is with heavy regret that I must inform the entire Purple Eagle nation that effective today I have resigned my position as the head men's basketball coach at Niagara University," Beilein said. "It has been a lifelong dream of mine to become a Division-I head basketball coach, but unfortunately, that dream must be put on hold. Personal reasons I can no longer take lightly have led me to step away from my dream job. Going forward, I must give singular focus to dealing with these issues, so that I can become the man I strive to be.

Seems way too early to be writing an article like this, but it’s fun to see it happening to some other team, especially since it’s Duke: The writer suggests the Duke freshmen who are expected to turn pro after this season might not be ready for the pros. That means, if they stay, there wouldn’t be room for all of the incoming scholarship players. Drama in Durham!

Apparently, going to court is the new thing to do when a player doesn’t like the NCAA ruling. This one seems like a fairly easy call for ineligibility. If courts are going to get involved in all this, who knows how messed up all this gets.

complete channel surfer till I got tired last night. Between NC State/Georgia Tech, Milwaukee/Portland Indianapolis/Texans I was hitting up Duke Cal. As you know, I know little of basketball but it seems to me we match up pretty good with Duke this year. Better than last year maybe. Am I wrong in thinking that Tillman takes Carey Jr? Wish we had that kid. (thanks Nigel and Travis). He's a damn good player but not as concerning outside as he seems to be free throw line in. Seems a good match up for X.

I just hope kids bring fake cash to the game at the Breslin and stand behind the Duke bench and continuously do the stripper money thing to them. I would find that hilarious.

I have to say I find it funny. Solid troll job especially since they always talk shit about how they do it 'the right way'. One thing though this stuff is funnier when you win the game after you talk all that shit otherwise you just look stupid.

Romeo Weems has 1 point 0-3 from the field, 3 turnovers and Depaul was down to Central 60-59 in an empty gym at Depaul. (as I'm typing that they've been on a 15-0 run), but I think he'll be o.k., I'm thinking Depaul needs some more recruits.
