So here’s where I don’t know what to do. I guess that’s how you want it. But fuck. I got a call two nights ago. The girl who hosted us two weekends ago on the Au Sauble River who is a vegetarian who is as active as I know who hogs runs skis does everything experienced numbness and came down with Bell’s palsy. Her left side of her face is now paralyzed. We’re all sick about it.

About 5-6 years ago I had Bell's Palsy. Went the doctor, who prescribed some mild steroids. Within a couple of weeks I was back to my old self. It did scare the bejeesus out of my family. I wasn't worried, though.

Nope, I only had to take the roids for a couple of weeks. I mean, maybe there are more serious forms of it, but from I read a significant number of people who contract it regain full control of their facial muscles.

Sorry to hear that. Glad you’re well. Yeah she’s getting them. Her daughter who was roommates with mine is currently in med school in Virginia. She’s also not too alarmed.

Update:
Doc thinks that it’s nerves. He says cut the nicotine and caffeine or increase the antipsychotic. My dopamine levels are fine but my norepinephrine/adrenaline is out of whack.

I’ve been lifting weights 3x a week for the last month. My muscles are so tight. I did some stretching and yin yoga poses and the numbness nearly went away.

No nicotine will be tough

Brother-in-law had Bells Palsy too.

Went to bed one night and the next morning my sister saw his lopsided face when he put his on his glasses. He was in his mid-40’s at the time. Took him 6-8 months with treatment and changes in his diet and he got back to about 95% according to his doc.
