Sometimes it seems like we sidestepped a real issue when he chose Memphis. I’ve only watched one of their games but he had unimpressive numbers and his body language towards his teammates was awful.

Who knows what is accurate reporting from the lockeroom. Supposedly upper class men not happy with underclassmen. Ironically I read it was the upperclassmen leading the way last night along with Duren.

A recent 2023 NBA Mock Draft came out that listed Emoni as the 20th best prospect (1 spot behind Max Christie).
He and his dad quickly hopped in the comments section to talk about how they were being disrespected. Comments followed about how it’s hard to justify anything higher than that for a guy averaging 10 ppg on under 40% shooting for a shitty Memphis team, especially with his pedestrian measurements.
Someone made a comment about how he’d have been better off going to MSU. His dad said Izzo holds his players back and isn’t allowing Gabe and Malik to reach their full potential, someone else pointed out that Emoni went from the “best prospect since LeBron” to being mocked at #20 in his draft class.
All in all a complete circus. We dodged a massive bullet.

Stems from, rooted in. Hell, throw in the trunk, bark, branches, and leaves, too. It’s all supposed to be on the dad.
Of course, this is based entirely on third party stories told by people whose opinions I’ve previously valued, as well as news articles I’ve read during the few years I’ve been aware of EB and his skills with a basketball. I’m so happy he’s somewhere other than EL. There’s no bitterness from me and I hope he gets things cleared up and goes on to make many millions in the pros.
