I need some high dividend paying stock suggestions...
I am looking for a stock or two to squirrel away some $$$ for my two little dinks (children, not penises). Anyone have any solid high dividend paying stocks they like out there they would suggest?

No individual stock recommendations...
but another option might be to buy a high dividend yield exchange traded fund (ETF) such as Vanguard High Dividend Yield or iShares Core High Dividend. The Vanguard ETF has a current annual yield of 2.94% with an annual operational cost of 0.10%. Its 5 year average annual return has been 19.57%. Buying an ETF rather than individual stocks may provide broader diversity and reduced risk.

That's sound advice if you consider 2.94% "high"(I don't). KMP's current dividend yield is 6.85%.

Do they declare dividends pretty regularly and at a fairly consistent yield?

Is this a better option than a 529? I'm sort of in the same boat as WBH, but need to start something for my daughter.

Quarterly like clockwork...and it goes up nearly every quarter. 31% increase in their dividend over the last 5 years. With dividend reinvestment your yield will increase over time.

I would only consider a 529 if you're maxing out your 401k/IRA. There are lots of scholarships for college. There are no scholarships for retirement. Use a Roth & you can withdraw your original contributions without penalty to pay for college (or anything else).

I like KO. I'm in the slow lane with this stock, but it's safe.
