Otherwise you could get a 60 gallon drum, fill it with vinegar, I'd say about 6 cups of Epsom salt and maybe half a bottle of dish liquid.

Might have to stockpile some vinegar but better than soaking your lawn with cancer-causing agents.

What’s all this about vinegar? I was just googling about weed killer that won’t also kill my grass as I’m a bit of a newbie to obsessing over my lawn and I’d like to know more
the vinegar-based weed killer (or lawn killer, depending on your goals) is more for spots in established gardens. Don't use it to kill weeds embedded in your lawn unless you also want to kill the grass in the immediate vicinity.

seems like tGreenWay wanted to basically kill off an entire stretch of lawn, hence my suggestion above.

the link below has some good organic methods - takes a lot of work and can be pretty tedious but it's not using known cancer-causing agents just to get rid of a few weeds.

I’d settle for five gallons of vinegar. It’s difficult to come by the store shelf 5% variety. Probably just going back to my trues and true method of popping off the heads of the dandelions so they never go to seed. There’s just a lot more of them this year.

Edit: Ans no salts of any kind. I want to be able to grow something on those spots later.

White vinegar will definitely kill off the grass around the weed you’re aiming at, Travis. I’m doing that for other areas of my yard where weeds pop up. The grass will die, too, but in a few days I’ll just pull out the dead grass, drop some topsoil and grass seed on it, and hope for the best. If you’re using a good bottle sprayer, you can get pretty good with your aim and keep the dead area very small and focused primarily on the weed.

And do not use salt at all, Travis, unless you’re okay with never ever growing anything in that area again. For example, the weeds that grow in the cracks of your driveway or sidewalk.

Ive already resigned myself to not worrying too much about the weeds in the grass and instead welcoming them as full fledged members of the Cosmos household

I try to stay on top of the front lawn. As such, I weeded around the beds and mowed it nicely on Saturday after a long bike ride. Thought about mowing the back.. then had a beer. Next thing I knew, the back wasn't getting mowed and then the 48 hours of rain set in.

As such, I plan on mowing the back yard this afternoon and I'll likely need some kind of John Deere corn harvesting apparatus. Parts of it look like a jungle. Glad nobody but me, really, can see it.

I just recently put new blades on my mower. Looks like I'm going to need them.

Skipped all weed killer and fertilizer last year. Dandelions and other shit went crazy this spring. Called TruGreen and they applied today. Can already see the weeds dying...pretty cool.

Moved 4 wheelbarrow loads of compost to various beds this morning. Planted a bunch of perennials. This was after a run on campus.

Now drinking a Labatts. I suspect that is not going to impact my already dehydrated status in a positive way.

4 day weekend? I got my base burn working in the yard all weekend. Hands are blistered and sore. Worn out today. Great weekend.

I'm fortunate to have a rather sporadic work schedule in the summer.

Yeah, when you're doing it right, yard work can wear ya out. After today, I'm mainly in the maintanence phase - weeding, watering, mowing - until October (thankfully).

Getting the house/yard ready for (social distancing) grad party. Been non-stop since the snow melted. This weekend was awesome. Three days of beautiful weather. The heavy lifting is done. Mainly little shit now. But my hands/forearms are wrecked today. I can't grip shit. Getting old sucks.

back from trimming down some unwanted tree growth.. basically a few saplings that were hidden enough for me to ignore all spring until now. Luckily, they weren't chainsaw-worthy yet.. I was able to still get them with my industrial-strength loppers.

Had a tree come down yesterday in the backyard just beyond the grass and into the woods. It’s A widow maker right now so I’ll have to take care of it this weekend.
