Funneling all campaign funds into a “pac” style organization that he can live off of? He does it with his “businesses”.
I think they're just low on funds. Been stories about that for weeks. Biden has been killing him on fundraising and the Trump campaign has spent over $1 Billion, shit most of their wad early, and made no headway in the polls.
I think that Trump figures that if he's neck and neck in the polls (like in Iowa and Ohio) then he will likely win on election day. Also, Iowa and Ohio are irrelevant to his campaign if he can't win Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and a couple of others. He needs to make up ground in those states and then hope that the toss ups go his way. I'm sure he's having the pro-Trump PACs keep going there to hammer home the anti-Biden messaging.
He may also be saving his money for post-election ads, law teams, etc.

Re: The 2020 Presidential campaign.
I have a friend whose been active in Democratic politics for years who lived in MI for about 10 years and moved to Chicago to work for the Democratic party about two years before Obama started his run for IL state senate.
I called him this afternoon to see how he is seeing things on the front lines in Cook County.
His concern and worst fear (shared by some others) is Trump /Trump 2020 has purposely been preaching the "Vote by mail AND vote in person" so there will be an inordinate number of mail in ballots rejected because those same people voted in person.
That gives Trump a platform to cry foul, the vote counting drags on so the SCOTUS citing their 2000 Bush v Gore opinion gets involved. That's explains the bum's rush to get the Trump nominated Justice confirmed.

The 2000 election and Supreme Court decision regarding it is highly unlikely to have any relevance or precedent to this year. Counting one time in accordance with state laws is hardly comparable to multiple recounts that all had the same result.
He's more likely to want to drag it out to January 20th so that the House of Representatives has to decide with each state getting a single vote.
But it won't be close enough to even get to that point.

They've seen through everything else he's tried, and this will be no different. Nearly everyone has made up their mind already, and the few undecideds won't be enough even if he got all of them.

I would be the icing on the cake if more stimulus came through (a lot of people still need help even if it's a drop in the bucket) and then Trump still loses in a landslide.

Yeah, I feel like there is probably a bigger chance that something Biden does causes him to lose ground than Trump doing something to make up ground.
Milk the clock. Run the ball, short quick high percentage passes, just don't fumble those. Don't go for the deep pass down field unless there is a blown coverage or the DB falls down, leaving it wide open.

Biden's getting great reviews for this deep pass yesterday though.

Tonight’s plexiglass barrier in the VP debate is going to leave a mark on Trump 2020. I can see why they didn’t want it but were basically forced to accept it. It’s pretty much a prop for Harris. And she needs to hammer it home. “You’re administration and handling of this pandemic is why it’s here.”

Are you saying Biden’s campaign needs to do the political equivalent of Tressel Ball?

I'd call it more of a Jeremy Langford TD run in the 4th quarter, where you're milking the clock, but you are still badass enough, and the opponent worn down enough, to take it to the house.
Or maybe what Biden needs to avoid doing is something like this. If you're up by 2, with the ball, :10 seconds on the clock, and you're punting, and the other team doesn't even have anyone back to receive the kick, don't split gunners out wide and send half your blockers down field to cover the return from no one. And for godsakes, if you are stupid enough to do that, do not have trouble with the snap.
I think I miss MSU football.

That's not Tressel ball, that's practical ball for any coach when they have the lead late in the game. Tressel ball would be doing it from the start. Though to be fair, I think Biden has been doing that from the start. Remember Tressel ball made OSU dominant again and gave MSU the best run in our lifetimes. Now is not the time to try to change it up and modernize his campaign.

Trump's favorite poll has an update, and Biden widened his lead from 8 to 12 in a week. Voters don't like presidents who get the rona.

That's also at least the third national poll (along with the recent NBC and CNN polls) that opened up to double digit leads this week.

Just a reminder that Clinton led Trump by 4 points in Wisconsin, 10 in Michigan, and 7 in Pennsylvania at about the same time in 2016.

You want an indicator of how far we’ve gotten off track and some proof that all of us are a frog boiling in the pot? Trump is asking the justice department why they haven’t arrested Obama, Biden and Hillary Clinton. Seems like a pretty big deal and no outrage.

Also worth pointing out that the gap fluctuated a lot more over the previous months, while this year they've been pretty consistent all year. In 2016, the polls significantly narrowed in the last month. But that's an important point in the context of those 2016 numbers, to keep pressing and not relax.

I've seen plenty of talk and outrage about it, but at the same time no one takes it seriously as there's no evidence of anything like that. Besides, does Trump have an arrest claim for Kamala (yet)? Arresting Biden would just make it so Trump gets beat by a black woman.
But if they were to try something like that, it would be the final nail in Trump's coffin. He would lose voters and not gain any.

I've seen more Biden/Harris signs popping up in Clinton County and this county north of I-69 usually goes about 98% Republican.
