Natty game
It's not too early. This game is over. OSU needs to score on every drive, they needed to pick up that first down.

Why did OSU have a LB on Smith DOWNFIELD on that last TD?

Safety error on play. I think he was supposed to funnel him to the Safety and the Safety went the other way. It looked like Cover 1.

Not sure funneling Smith is the right way to play him. I’ve already been proven right in this. Their scheme ain’t working.

Congratulations to all of the diehard Bama fans out there. What's it feel like to finally climb and stand atop that mountain? It must feel amazing. Remember this fleeting feeling forever.

I know you’ve missed those. Now that the holidays have passed, I’ll be able to focus on those more often.

Welp that is the push I've needed. I've decided that in 2021 I'm going to kick social media to the curb.

OSU is uber talented and didn't look like they belonged on the same field and Saban just landed his best recruiting class.

I've watched a smattering of cfb games outside of the MSU games and games isn't even the correct term I've watched a minute or two here and there.
I'm now going to make my preseason top three rankings:
1) Alabama
2) Ohio State
3) Clemson
The rest don't matter.

You're not wrong steve. Sorta losing my appetite for college football outside of betting. MSU included. We'll see how I feel in the fall.

Expanding the playoffs isn't going to fix the problem either.

Re: Natty game
I'm not sure it would "fix" it but it would make it more entertaining. The only thing that is going to "fix" it is to blow up the model and even the playing grounds. Need to create a professional minor league for players with pro aspirations and let the fighting Rece Davises of the world play football against each other.
But you would have upsets. Bama or OSU would occasionally lose before the finals. It's impossible to stay locked in every week.

Re: Natty game
I think it would fix it if people started shaming Nick Saban about having a Power 5 that he coached at that he didn’t win a championship at, causing him to quit Alabama and go back to that school to win one before he retires.
Who has his contact information so we can shame him dwags I’m looking at you

Re: Natty game
I think allowing players to make money off of their likeness and allowing them to be sponsored will help level the playing field. Would you rather go to Bama with a chance to play behind the best WR or QB or RB in the country but make less on endorsements? Or go to MSU and be THE guy and have a shot at making more on endorsements?

I'm not sure on that. Depends on what the actual rules probably end up being

Re: Natty game
I would agree with aualum06 that it really does depend on the "rules." I am not convinced that a starter at MSU would make more than a second stringer at Alabama. Players also seem to over estimate their talent and their ability to start (of course everyone tells them they are the best).Motown Spartan wrote:I think allowing players to make money off of their likeness and allowing them to be sponsored will help level the playing field. The gap seems to widen with every change. I would expect that trend to continue.

Name the last THE guy at MSU and which bama counterpart he'd make more on endorsements?

If I'm going to tune in for four hours I want a competitive game. With a few exceptions sitting there and watching a team get pulverized for four hours is not fun.

It was a hypothetical and I didn’t necessarily mean it’ll all change at once. At think about the 3rd sting Bama guys maybe going to LSU and the 2nd string LSU guys now becoming starters at Mississippi and Mississippi State and Georgia, etc. I think there’s a good chance that it will level things out a bit. And MSU will have the money when the time is right. Plenty of deep pockets in Michigan would love to sponsor Connor Cook brought to you by Quicken Loans.

If other schools were allowed to pay it might make the sport more competitive.
