Wait, if he was "staying home", wouldn't he be committing to SVSU?

He must have inside information that Hoke will be gone by the time he gets there

It is an official unofficial type of rule here. Talking about croots we get ok, getting butthurt about them not going to MSU and/or stalking them before and after they commit is a 247 type of way.

Those that stay...will see a new head coach AND actually have some food left at the buffet.

Just wish msu would employ the hard sell. Seems to work. The go home and think about it doesn't work so well with the top kids.

I'm so jelly of all UM's success these past couple years. We should really rethink our approach in order to keep up with them.

Do you want to win recruiting championships or do you want to win big ten championships?

The hard sell is never going to be Coach D's style. He wants to make sure each kid is completely sold on MSU. This is how he creates the family atmosphere that is working to well.

Sucks. Kid will never reach his potential which is always a shame.
Being completely honest with myself I just can't understand how or why a top recruit would pick UM in 2014. I hope the kid succeeds in spite of his awful decision.

No. No it's not. Like, at all.
Re: Brian Cole picks U-M...
We have the best defense in cfb, if a kid can't handle competing with the best then he's probably better off taking the easy road and going with a program that will promise immediate playing time. People like that don't have the right character to achieve their full potential.

Sorry homeskillet, but Cole is from Saginaw and almost everyone had him as a somewhat heavy MSU lean. Top 50 player nationally, truly an elite talent. It's a big miss. This came out of nowhere. Couple that with Alabi going to Ohio St and 2016 in state stud Daelin Hayes committing to USC,...that's a lot of in state talent almost everyone thought we would have a very good shot to land gone.
It once looked liked we would cleanup in 2015 in state recruiting, now it's a borderline trainwreck depending on what Thompson and Weber do.
The one cool thing is that we all know Dantonio will simply find other very talented players. Going nationally too. It's important to get kids from Texas and the South. So much talent. We should have another big year and close out strong yet again.

What happens to some of these State of Michigan can't miss recruits? It seems like every year there are 4 star and maybe a 5 star type kid from Michigan that we just haaaave to get. He ends up at say USC, OSU, UM, ND, wherever and I never remember hearing about the kid again. I realize too that sometimes they work out like Mark Ingram but it's rare.
I just can't get upset by missing out on Brian Cole. I've tried to get worked up and get into recruiting but I just can't do it. Good luck to the kid. We seem to be getting a good WR from Florida soon and possibly a talented LB in the next week or two.
Also, I'm completely convinced that tons and tons of these 3 star type kids from Texas, Georgia, Florida, and/or California would blow up in this state and be a top recruit. As always, get the talent that you can get in Michigan and Ohio and then head south for additional talent that you can't get up here.

It will be interesting for sure to see how guys like Drake Harris and Cole end up doing at UM. As long as Dantonio is coach we will have studs on defense. And it appears we are getting studs at skill positions on offense too. We aren't going anywhere. The question is will UM rise up .
