Neil does some pretty good write ups, this is from this weeks GW game. This is quite the young group and they will definitely have some growing pains. Thank god Anastos is gone, he wasn't technical enough and looked smug all the fucking time, fuck him. In comes Danton and its a breath of fresh air, heres to hoping he can bring us back to competing for Big 10 ships and shit. I don't think we will reach .500 this year unless our returnees take a huge step forward and guys like Lewandowski and Keefer can make up for the losses of Cox and Appleton. Tommy Miller is a defenseman I am pretty excited about, kid probably will see a lot of ice time for a true frosh. Hopefully our tenders can have big years and keep things tight.

Reading that makes me realize the experience Cole brings. He's a teacher that has been teaching hockey for years. Anastos never even scratched the surface of that experience.

Yeah when he was hired I was a little confused, I mean you can't jump from administration role to being the head coach of a d1 program, its probably one of the worst hires in sports tbh, maybe if we hired John L to coach hockey it would of been worse. As a Spartan I wanted Anastos to do well but like you said he lacked experience and in the coaching profession, you either need great players or be a great coach, he had neither. Last years 1-2-2 Center low forecheck was all we seem to run, and it was always sloppy. The complete lack of creativity on breakouts was disturbing to say the least, I think this is where Cole will be a huge help.

I certainly appreciate how frustrated you and a whole lot of us are about the state of the hockey program, Matty. Anastos never should've been hired and he stayed too long. But he's still a Spartan, and was a helluva player to watch. Now that he's off the bench, maybe cut him some slack?

I apologize if I am being too hard on a Spartan like Anastos, guy could play hockey and he was a nice guy the few times I met him. I am more upset with the administration for hiring him and allowing him to coach for as long as he did. That being said, he did bring the program to an all time low... I am all good though, just being keyboard jerk guy.

Lets get this going though, come on Coach Cole, hoping to start us off with a win in our exhibition vs Toronto tomorrow before we jump right in to the season next week vs the Falcons of Bowling Green.

OTPT, Friday we are in Ohio to play Bowling Green at 730, game will be available on radio via Spartan Sports Network then Saturday at 7 we are back at Munn, tickets from $10 or they do have the family four pack deals with food, drinks and tickets for 50. Hockey games are awesome to go to while sober or under the influence of herb or spirits alike. Don’t forget students, admission to Saturday’s game is FREE!

I went to a game at BGSU in 2007, that place was a dump. I know it had been two decades since York took them to the promised land, but that place sucked.

No line for the Spartans on 5D...but ND is +135 at home against Denver. I know Denver is loaded, but ND is no slouch themselves and have 2 games under their belt while DU opens up tonight.

I was listening to the game and all three happened really quick, like three minutes. Minney was then pulled and Lethemon came in and did really well, only giving up one more. Hirose got the lone goal for MSU in the 4-1 loss. 3 goals like that is a sign of inexperience but I am happy that we weren't outshot like most games last year, shots were tied, game with that score last year would of been 45-20 in shots. Hoping for a rebound win tmrw night
