What’s he supposed to do. If they can get anything passed it will be a monumental achievement with those two douchecanoes in the senate. It’s just another reminder that everyone should be working to get MORE PROGRESSIVES elected. The system we have is the system we have. Until we have a solid majority, it’s what we have to work with.

While all seven are debatable, one thing that's not is the other parties ability to win elections is now dependant on acceptance of the racist elements within the party.

She lost. Addressed this in one of the other threads. Republicans find it too easy to scare people if their opponent is a woman. Gender is probably good for 5 to 10% more votes if the candidate is a man. Much higher effect than race.

Yep, couldn't agree more. I saw a few strategist suggest that Dems need to move towards plain language messaging on how bad repubs are, provide red meat messaging and fight to lead the discussion around what's on the ballot. A good start would be to broadcast today's job reports. Those numbers are YUGE!

I am talking about the people who refuse to vote for female candidates, not race at all, so no one but you is it "playing the race card".

Since you brought it up what you are hanging your hat on are "token" male minority candidates that the Republicans are recruiting. Looking at the Republicans in office verses the Democratics in office the number of women and minorities are far higher for the Democratics. The Republicans see this and are putting forth a few female and minority candidates so people who vote for them can pretend that racism isn't a big motivator for many Republican voters. Even the representation in office for the Democratics for females hardly matches the general population distribution, which if there wasn't a bias it would.

I disagree on policy and agree on "social issues". On policy the country is far to the left of where the policies are.

On social issues the white privilege and male privilege still has support. After all, critical race theory is all about how white privilege & male privilege are built into the legal systems of the country.

These minor offenses resulted in the deaths of unarmed motorists at the hands of police officers. In a Times investigation of traffic stops that left more than 400 people dead over the past five years, the police justified the shootings by arguing that the vehicle was a weapon.

In about 250 cases, The Times found that police officers had fired into vehicles that they claimed posed a threat. Relative to the population, Black motorists were overrepresented among those killed.

Over the past five years, nine officers have been fatally run over, pinned or dragged by drivers in vehicles. But in many instances, local police officers, state troopers and sheriff’s deputies put themselves at risk. Some officers who fatally shot motorists didn’t appear to be in any jeopardy at all, The Times investigation showed.
