It’s a suicide mission and turtleneck is still encouraging it. That’s fucking focus for every Spartan to admire.

I don’t pay close attention to the 2-deeps, or which player plays which position back there, but did we lose anyone from the secondary yesterday? I know Brantley got hurt, but I haven’t seen word he’s done.

Well, we have been playing the 3 deep at CB. Brantley appears to be done for the year.
Who else is out for this Saturday, I don't know. "They're sore and they'll be back when they're back" is the Tuckism for injuries. But this is what we know about our CBs:
Gervin - Gone to the portal.
Williams - Injured back. Was dressed on Saturday to play only in case of emergency. He played some snaps due to emergency after Brantley went out. Not close to 100%. Hopefully he is better for Saturday.
Kimbrough - Left Purdue game due to an injury, but did return at less than 100%. So maybe ok to play Saturday, but how healthy is he? He's sore, and he'll be back when he's back.
Brantley - I think he's done for the year. Apparently has had an ongoing shoulder injury. Re-aggravated it and left the game Saturday. Apparently Insta'd, "Adversity. Year 2 loading".
Marqui Lowery - He's been out for a couple of games. Not sure if he's expected back yet. I forget what his injury is.
Justin White - I don't know if he's injured. But hes a walk on. Has played some minutes. Got a nice pressure and hit on the UM QB on a blitz, forcing a big incompletion. But ideally, you don't want to rely on a walk on transfer from a DII school.
So that's our 3 deep at CB going into the season. Oh yeah, and the top 4 passing teams in the B10 are OSU, Purdue, Maryland, and PSU (not sure if that's the exact order, but you get the picture).

I'm pretty excited. Only two more chances to see K9 live. Saturday should be fun.

Thanks to you and au. Seems like a grim outlook, but I still like our chances for taking one from either OSU or PSU, for now, anyway. Obvs, it will be easier to reassess what we have after the Maryland game. As long as our front line holds (not the yellow flag variety) and KWIII stays healthy, we can stay in any of these remaining games, at least in theory.

Per Saturday Tradition, last four games against the 4 best QBs in the B10. They have Maryland's Tagovailoa at #4.

Re: Regroup, refocus, and trample some turtles: Maryland pregame thread
As Miami already stated, Maryland will throw the ball around a lot. Although not quite the passing offense of Purdue (#8), they are ranked in the top 20 for passing yards per game (#14). Total offense is just inside the top 50 (#45), However, they get more per pass than Purdue with an average of just over 8 yards per completion. I like this matchup more than Purdue, but competent passing teams are clearly a big worry.

Maryland’s multi team colors makes it difficult to not wear any one of them in the week leading up to the game. Navy and yellow? Easy. Don’t wear black or gold? Got it. No red? Done. But Maryland? That’s rough, man. Just going to #LiveNaked

Don't give in to Maryland's weak attempt to claim 4 colors as their school colors. You get two, that's it. I think red and yellow are the only ones you really need to avoid. Black and white only need to be avoided if they are one of a school's two main colors (i.e., black for Purdue and Iowa). In fact, white doesnt need to be avoided since it is one of MSU's colors.
IOW, put your damn clothes on. I'm sick of the all the texts from your wife about that (btw, does she always use the laughing emoji so much?).
