Trump and his campaign didn't believe that Biden could do that. They knew that they could turn out their voters, which they did, receiving the second highest vote total ever in a Presidential election. Biden and his campaign did on hell of a job getting their people out to vote.

People don't just vote, not all of them.

Campaigns have Get Out The Vote (GOTV) operations which do their best to get people who they believe are going to vote for them out to vote.

The reason Biden got so many votes was because of those operations.

Even if the reason to vote for Biden was Trump.

I didn't say an unprecedented percentage. My use of the term "unprecedented numbers" is correct. No candidate in the history of this country has had more people vote against him in a single election than Donald Trump.

You blame Covid and its politicization for Trump's loss, but that ignores two crucial truths:

1. Trump politicized Covid.
2. Had he handled it like a responsible leader, he would have won the election.

The blame for your guy's landslide loss lies with him.

No, dipshit, I just happen to believe that bigger numbers are bigger than smaller numbers. I don't really know why you're bringing up Reagan, but Biden got more votes in this past election than Reagan ever did. Obviously, the population is greater now than it was then, and arguments could be had about which is more "impressive" or whatever you like. But, as I said before, it is inarguable that Biden received a raw number of votes that is without precedent.
