Who doss the Valentines day crap?

Do you give gifts? Expect gifts? Go out to dinner?

I find this hallmark holiday annoying, but I know so many who really expect something.

I do dendro- I’m an excellent gift giver most years, so I enjoy it.

We got married in the fall, so this year I got ahold of the wedding dj, got a transcript of every song that was played the entire day from pre ceremony to the end of the night, and put it together in order on a playlist.

Valentine's Day is for suckers. Travis is a sucker. And a blue.

I think of other's the other 364 days of the year so I don't need a reminder to show my love.

My wife would kick my ass if I bought her flowers today or wanted to take her to dinner, because everything is insanely over-priced. We have always had joint accounts, so it would be wasting her money as much as it would be wasting mine.

Wrong thread...but since I'm editing, I did take my GF out on Saturday night for a movie/dinner date. She's the best, she's not a fan of dining out so I can be a cheapskate most other times.

I'm with Motown. The hallmark holiday saying to do it is what irritates the fuck out of me. Nice gestures/surprises should be done throughout the year not when someone says to.

Just cooking my wife dinner tonight. Already said “happy valentines “ to each other this morning. I’ll pick up six roses when I go to the grocery store today.  That’s it.

Now this is where I would not object. I hate cooking, but I'm the only one who will cook. I would be one easy date if someone made me dinner.

I don’t think it can really be a Hallmark holiday if it was celebrated by ancient Romans. Sweetest day, sure. Flag day, definitely hallmark. I don’t think Valentine’s Day really qualifies

That's cute, but what is that made out of? Is that a ceramic?

It was one of the many pumpkins from our garden this year. One plant had squash like these with a non traditional jack o'lantern look.

Wow you still managed to have pumpkins this time of year? I didn't think that could happen, hence my confusion.
But also because my MIL has made my granddaughters ceramic jack o lanterns

He probably thinks we should move President's Day to align with his birthday.

While the wife and I would have both loved to skip the whole gift exchange - it seems our rather precocious seven year old daughter thought that was a horrible idea. We each got each other some overpriced valentines tokens so our daughter doesn't think the world is coming to an end.

What about in the afternoon? Are you more limbered up by then?

Three bouquets of flowers. Three heart shaped chocolate boxes. Some rando dollar store items. Three happy ladies in my house.

I bought three filet mignons and four lobster tails and had a lovely meal. I got the kids a couple of stuffed animals and my wife a couple records and everybody some gourmet chocolates from a local store. It’s nice. Yes you should express your love every day blah blah blah, but my family enjoyed the day very much so eat me.
