They should have kept Solich. If anything he might have kept recruiting pipelines established by Osborne open. I can't imagine it's easy selling somebody from Miami or LA on the idea of living in Lincoln for nine months out of the year.

I’m guessing Nebraska plays OU with Frost coaching next Saturday September 17. Then they have a week off and play IU on October 1.

There are $7.5M reasons for the AD to wait until October 1. It’s possible for a pre-arranged resignation just prior or after the IU game.

Yeah, I don't think quality P5 coaches are banging down any doors to go to Nebraska. They have alumni pressure and expectations of a Texas, Florida, or LSU, but without the natural recruiting advantages (geography and nearby talent) that those schools have.

Nebraska screwed themselves joining the big ten. Probably hurt their recruiting base, but maybe that’s just an excuse. Most likely just bad coaching decisions.

It’s not the shitty job you think it is. Especially considering it’s a power five school where being above average will get you in the conference championship game every other year.
