Let's be realistic. Ford Field will be 30%+ PSU fuckers that day. And let's not forget the random Walmarters with nothing better to do in their SCum gear, who will of course be shown on TV. Spartan fans will be gone be the end of the 3rd quarter. SCummers and the Detroit rags will eat it up. I like Haller & Tuck. And I want them to succeed. But this decision seems dumb to me. Embarrassment potential of getting blown out in prime time on national TV is very high. Also could damage recruiting heading into the off season with no bowl either.

Hope I'm completely wrong and this is a great success, but I don't really see the upside other than maybe $$$. What about all the suite holders at SS? Do they get transferred to suites at FF?

Holy shit...maybe I can get a suite at FF. A potential silver lining emerges.

I’m done after this and you guys can tell me I’m full of shit. But to me, giving reasons why it will be good is like blaming the victim.   Of course, it’s nowhere near the seriousness of a victimized crime like assault or worse. And in no way am I trying to lessen the seriousness and real world crap that assault is.

But if you don’t mind, I’m not gonna give the big 10 or our administration any leeway here and come up with reasons that it’s a good thing that MSU is getting fucked out of a home game with Penn State.

I’ll be at the game fat and tired from eating turkey and pumpkin pie. I will Uber home or I will stay downtown Detroit. I will enjoy a Spartan victory iand James Franklin choking again, but I will not forgive those people that have insulted my university and kicked us in the face nor will I give them the courtesy of saying thank you for kicking me in the head it’s really gonna be a good thing.

It's still kind of a "home" game. We're controlling the tickets. We're not giving Penn State half. If it's packed, then the consumer will have decided it was a better option than being outside. You've been to enough of these games. It's embarrassing how few people show up for the last game. Maybe this will change that.

"Home field" advantage is determined by the fans. If we sell it out, that has to be better than what we've seen in the past at Spartan Stadium.

I'm not sure that many Penn State fans will be super excited to go to Ford Field on Black Friday. If they're undefeated? Maybe. But the same thing would probably happen at Spartan Stadium then.

Yep. Being 24 year EL merchant I can tell you every home game is critical to the bottom line and you only get 6 this year. Sucks big time for them.

I might go. Highly unlikely I'd go at Spartan Stadium (unless it was a big game).

And you might get more season tickets holders to attend at Ford Field. At the end of the year, a lot of people get worn out (and if it's cold...forget it). If it's a separate purchase (and inside), they might attend.

Pretty clear the Athletic Department doesn't give a crap about local businesses (which sucks).

There are definitely some pros to it (I think we've covered all of the cons).

And I'm fine with it. I think it will be a better fan experience (once inside in the warmth).

But, the narrative has been that we are helping out our TV partners by doing this.

I want some help back then. Night game vs. UM at Spartan Stadium? Another game televised on NBC? Izzo mentioned some of our basketball games might be streamed on Peacock? Nope. We want them all on "regular" channels.

And so many unanswered questions...do we get a cut of concessions? Do we get all in-stadium ad revenue generated during the game? It's basically a 4 hour commercial for Ford (Field). How much is that worth?

Maybe our athletic department knows all this stuff. Maybe I don't need to.

Going to the Lions Thanksgiving day game and MSU the next day is appealing to me. Sitting in the cold isn't.
